WELCOME TO THE THEATRE ROYAL

Our Auditorium was redecorated in 2016 and has a licensed capacity of 149. There is level access to the unraked stalls area and steps lead from the Foyer to the raked balcony seating area. All seats provide a clear view of the stage and have excellent acoustics. There is an induction loop for patrons who are hard of hearing.

Our newly refurbished Foyer includes our well-stocked, licensed bar. Here we serve a wide variety of alcoholic drinks, soft drinks, fresh coffee and tea, and a range of savoury snacks and confectionery. The bar opens approximately half an hour before each performance starts. Interval refreshments can be pre-ordered and drinks in unbreakable containers may be taken into the Auditorium. The bar is also open after the performance.

There is another bar in the Green Room, on the first floor, to allow for any overspill from the Foyer.

Disabled access: There is Wheelchair Access throughout the ground floor. There are no steps from the front door through to the Auditorium and we have provided wheelchair spaces in the Auditorium itself (Rows C and D). It is best to pre-book these spaces, if required. There is a Disabled Toilet in the Foyer.

Photography/recordings/mobile phones: The use of cameras and other recording devices is not allowed in the Theatre. Please switch off all mobile phones and tablets during performances.

Dogs: Assistance dogs only please.

Parking: Car parking is generally available at the Marks and Spencer car parks opposite the theatre. Please ensure to check that pay and display charges do not apply when you park your vehicle. There is also a multi-storey car park on New Oxford Street.

We look forward to seeing you at the Theatre Royal, whether you are an audience member, performer or volunteer. Do keep checking our website for the latest news about performances and events at the Theatre.
