IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE
By Mary Elliot Nelson & Frank Kapra

It’s a Wonderful Life tells the heartwarming story of George Bailey, a kind and selfless man from Bedford Falls who has spent his life putting others first. Though he once dreamed of travelling the world, George repeatedly sacrifices his ambitions to support his family, save his father’s building-and-loan business, and help his neighbours build better lives.

On Christmas Eve, after a financial disaster threatens ruin, George reaches a breaking point and believes the world would be better off without him. In response, a guardian angel named Clarence is sent to intervene. To show George the true value of his life, Clarence reveals an alternate reality in which George was never born. Without George’s kindness and choices, Bedford Falls becomes a bleak, joyless place, and the people he loves suffer greatly.

Realising the profound impact he has made, George begs for his life back. Restored to his world, he finds his friends and community rallying to support him. Surrounded by love, George sees that despite hardship, he truly has lived a wonderful life.
