‘People should not be afraid of their government:
Governments should be afraid of their people.

In a future British tyranny, a shadowy freedom fighter, known only by the alias of “V”, plots to overthrow it with the help of a young woman.

Written and produced by the Wachowski brothers (who also wrote and directed ‘The Matrix’) and starring Hugo Weaving, Natalie Portman, John Hurt, Stephen Rae, Stephen Fry & Tim Piggot-Smith, ‘‘V’ FOR VENDETTA’ (2005) tells the story of Evie Hammond and her unlikely but instrumental part in bringing down the fascist government that has taken control of a dystopian Great Britain.

Saved from abduction and death, by a man in a Guy Fawkes mask who calls himself V, she slowly learns of V’s past and, eventually, decides to help him bring down those who committed the atrocities he suffered and who now govern Britain as a totalitarian state.
